Starting from

One and two day field trips to Boston are a great opportunity for younger student groups to discover the art of travel while having fun and discovering the places and people behind the events leading to the revolution.   One of the oldest cities in the US, Boston still retains its historic charm, studded with buildings and houses dating back to the Revolutionary War. To this day, Boston remains steeped in the tradition of fishing. Founded in 1630 by Puritans from England, Boston has been home to some of the most influential pioneers that shaped American history, such as the first Governor of Massachusetts John Winthrop who originally coined the phrase “shining city on a hill”. Visit Old North Church in the North End. Built in 1723, it was this church from which the famous "one if by land, and two if by sea" lanterns signaled the British soldiers' approach. On cue, silversmith Paul Revere embarked on his midnight ride by horseback on April 18, 1775. Step back into time at Paul Revere’s house, built in 1680, a time capsule preserved and decorated as it was back then. Learn what life was really like in Colonial America and during the Revolutionary War as a citizen of Boston, how one earned a living, coped with life before electricity, kept warm in the winter, ate, and dressed. Visit nearby Plymouth, Plymouth Plantation (a living history), perhaps the Plymouth Wax Museum, and climb aboard the reproduction of the Mayflower, bringing to life and making indelible all that is learned in the classroom back home. Boston student tours need not be entirely historical in nature, and may include a trip to the Museum of Science, a whale watching trip, or a visit to the New England Aquarium. 5 Go Educational Tours
